Incentives Training

This week has been a blur of activity. My office is hosting Incentives Training today and yesterday. Incentives is the area of tax I am in. I helped get all the course materials together and put together the 4 inch thick binders. That was a race to the finish! Then I had to go to dinner with a small group on Tuesday and then everyone (about 40) went to a reception last night. It was fun and I got to meet all the E&Y people that I speak to on the phone or over email but have never met. However, I didn't get to see my wonderful hubby all week!

I got a new cell phone this week. It is probably the nicest phone I have ever had. It has a camara and a pink cover. It is supposed to have my old number but right now it has a different one. We are working on straightening that out. In the meantime, Mommy has my number if you need it.

I also want to give a shout out to my little brother for his homecoming date.

Casual Monday

I have previously mentioned that I work on the 20th floor of my office. Well, we actually have two offices in downtown Dallas. I usually work in the other one but from time to time I get a change of scenery. Literally, you can actually see out of the windows in this office from my cubicle!! Another plus is that it is very often casual day. Every Monday is causal and then if the goal of the week is met, it is casual the entire next week. All that to say....I am wearing jeans and my cute sandels which I can not usually wear :) At the other building, we have a strict dress code. No sandels, sleaveless tops, and hose at all times. That is not a fun dress code during the Dallas summers.

We had a great weekend. We took a second trip to the brand new IKEA store in Dallas. It was great for me a second time and it was Justin's first (and probably last) trip. He enjoyed it for a little while! I got some new items to finish decorating our study. I need to take a picture of that as well. Mommy made us some new curtains for that room, too.

I was glad to see my family joined the blog circle. However, that makes it a little tough to squeeze in reading everyone's and updating during my lunch hour. Good thing we just got wireless internet! Now I can watch Amazing Race tomorrow and catch up on blogging during commercials.

Pictures!!

I have been super busy at work this week. No time for playing around (that includes blogging). Well, I got my pictures from the lake but we did not get a CD. That makes it a little hard to put them on the computer. Here is one of Justin dancing as promised. Isn't my husband talented? That is our friend, Lindsay, with him. She went to Baylor with us.

Below is a tour of our beautiful apartment.

This is our living room. Mommy made the curtains! Isn't she great?

This is the courtyard that our back door looks out to. It is supposed to look like New Orleans.

This is our patio. We got the table on sale after it was already summer here in Dallas. We are looking forward to many cool fall evenings sitting out on the patio!

A Sad Defeat

Well, last night did not go as planned for my boys. For those of you who do not watch Monday night football, the Cowboys lost by one point. However, that wasn't the worst part. They lead 13 to 0 with 4 minutes to go! I guess there is always next week.

Good news about Walker. Kara has gained some amniotic fluid and everything is looking better. He should be born on time but be rather small.

Justin and I are going to attempt to take a walk tonight. But it was so hot today, I am not sure if we will make it long. I can't wait until it cools off. When we first moved into our apartment, we went on walks around the neighborhood all the time. It is a really pretty area and people are always out and about.

Lake Texoma

We had a wonderful time at the lake this weekend! We left Friday after work and it took about an hour and half to get there. We took it easy that night just lounging in the hot tub. On Saturday, we rented a 4 person wave runner and explored the lake. It was beautiful weather, sunny and the water was smooth. We had lunch at the marina overlooking the lake. Later that afternoon, we took a giant raft (5' by 7') to the beach and floated in the sun. We came home on Sunday and crashed. I will post pictures as soon as we get them developed. We did not take many pictures with the digital camera due to the danger of dropping items into the lake. Although, I do have a few of Justin dancing.

Today is a great day. Even though it is Monday, it is the best kind of Monday. The Cowboys are on Monday night football. I am anxious to see if they can duplicate the great performance of last week. Plus Aikman, Irving, and Emmit are being inducted into the Ring of Honor. Some of you might remember these awesome players from our 3 Superbowl wins back in the 90's.

In another TV note, I too am excited about all the season premiers in the next week. Justin and I love Amazing Race. I am a big Survivor fan as well as a Gilmore Girls fan. I don't know if anyone else watches it but if you do....I have the same purse as Lorelai.

Rainy day in Texas

Today was an uneventful day for me. Went to the office like normal and plugged away at never ending work. For some reason I was not feeling very happy. Perhaps because it is rainy, gloomy, and very hot and humid here today. That is the worst kind of weather in my book.
Justin and I are going to the lake this weekend with some friends. It is supposed to be sunny and should be a fun time. Lots of laying in the sun and hopefully some jet skiing. We are leaving Friday after work and will be gone until Sunday.
One rather serious note. Kara and Aaron's baby, Walker, is due on November 7. However, Kara has low amniotic fluid. The doctor previously said it is not a problem but now it is a little more serious. Low amniotic fluid is often a sign of the placenta failing. Kara has to get a sonogram every week and the doctor said to come each time with her bags packed. He said if there is any sign that the placenta is failing, he wants to deliver immediately. Pray for the baby and Kara and Aaron. The baby is healthy right now at 3.5 pounds, the normal size for 32 weeks.

Life as Lindsay

I am going to catch all of you up on my current life status. I hope someone is reading this so I will not feel like it is a waste of time. Let's see.........I graduated from Baylor in December. Justin graduated the previous May and was waiting with me in Waco. We moved to Dallas in January and got an awesome apartment downtown. It is actually in what is called Uptown but basically in downtown. I work about half a mile away on the other side of the freeway. We love our little neighborhood. It is filled with people around our age and there are tons of things to do.

I work for Ernst & Young, an international accounting firm. I do tax consulting, meaning I do not actually do tax returns but instead help clients with what to put on the return to minimize tax liability. Enough boring talk. I work on the 20th floor out of 33. Unfortunately, I sit in a cube with no windows nearby. I am currently studying for the CPA exam which takes a lot of my time but is necessary to be licensed.

Just a Test

I am attempting to post my first blog so that I may view my page. I am creating this blog so that I can leave a comment for my cousin Katie on her site. I read her blog and felt like I should let her know.
