Hump Day

There seems to be some confusion about our move. We just moved in to Casa de Walker (my parent's house). Our lease was up on our apartment and we had not found the perfect place yet. So instead of signing a new lease and getting locked into a date again, we are doing a short stay with the parents. It's going well so far. I'm still working in Frisco but from Mommy's it is only 20 minutes and about 25 minutes to get downtown if I have to go to the office.

I keep meaning to download some pictures from my camera so I can put some up but I keep forgetting. I don't have many anyway but I do have some from New Year's. I took some at the Cowboy's game we went to on Christmas but then they got erased. Which is really too bad since I irritated Justin quite a bit trying to get a cute one of us while taking it ourselves. Amanda and Josh seem to have mastered the technique but we alas have not.

A Real Snow Day

Well, yesterday we had a real snow day. It caught me by surprise. My alarm went off yesterday morning and was on the radio as usual. Justin Frozell(the DJ) was listing all the school closures. I looked outside and sure enough everything was covered. So I listened to my voicemail and EY had decided to close the office for the day. So I called the client to make sure he didn't want me to drive to Frisco. He said to stay put because I was of no use to him in a ditch on the side of the road somewhere. I did a lot of packing in the morning. Oh yeah, we are moving on Saturday. Then I went in to the office after lunch and did a bunch of sales tax returns that are due on Monday. I was going to have to do them this weekend so it worked out well. I was about the only one in the office. Most of the lights were out and only Sandra (my boss) was there. But I didn't have to stay that long. I went home about 5:30. Then we had to get Justin to the doctor. He got two shots, an antibiotic, and musinex. Hopefully, he will be feeling better soon. And hopefully, next time I post we will be moved and have a new car.

Snow Day

We had a half day snow day today. That means I didn't have to go to Frisco but I did come into the office around 10:00. I'm a little nervous driving after my accident and I was scared to drive until the ice melted a little. But EY delayed opening until noon so I was still one of the first people here. After I spoke with the client and he said not to bother driving out there, I felt guilty for not driving the 1/2 mile into the office. So here I am. But without much to do since I was scheduled to be at the client. All that to say....not a bad Monday. We looked at cars this weekend in the freezing rain. Fun. But I guess test driving in the rain lets you know how the car really handles.

P.S. I was not happy with my very pink and rather boring blog template. So I now have a very Mavs and exciting template! I am also not above admitting that some the ideas and designs included are from some of my favorite family blogs

We are still looking for a house. But now we are looking for a car as well. I think I want another 4Runner but I can't decide for sure. We are going to go to CarMax soon to look at various options.

I am starting a new project at work and will be in working in Frisco for about the next month. For those of you that don't know, Frisco is in the far north metroplex so I will be driving about 45 minutes to get there. Bummer. Then I have to do it again in April for about 6 weeks. Hopefully, I'll at least have a new car and a bluetooth for the drive. I am also hoping the hours won't be too long since I am already working 10 hours a day and now have to add on the 45 minutes both ways.

In other news, I was looking on the Texas unclaimed property website and found some items for some members of my family. First, I found a claim for Justin and then after I discussed it with him we realized that his siblings might have a claim to. Turns out that Susan, Kelly, Justin, Ashley, Amanda, and Josh all have one. I also found one for Daddy. They aren't much money but it is free to collect so you might as well.

Sick

I'm back in the office today. Not feeling so hot though. At least the Mucus Relief medicine is providing some relief. Hopefully, I can go home early and get some rest. We had a great Christmas and most of my time off was fun. Most of it meaning except for my accident which I am sure most of you have heard about by now. We're still waiting to get the police report and hear if the car is totalled. That's all for now. I'll post some New Year's Eve pictures as soon as I remember to download them on to my computer.
