It has been a busy weekend and week so far. We had Ben's graduation on Friday and both sets grandparents were in for that. It was great to get to see everyone! It was also great to see little Ben crossing the stage!

Then on Sunday I ran in the North Trail Half Marathon. I ran with Anna a member of Team in Training and we finished together. We finished in about 2:30. The race was pretty cool because it was realitively small but there were a ton of Team in Training people there. We even saw a supporting sheep dog! Luckily, the weather has been a little cooler lately and it wasn't too hot for the race. Of course it did start at 7:00. After the race, I studied (like on Saturday).

Then yesterday I took my last part of the CPA exam. I feel good about it and am hoping I passed. I won't know for a month or so. After the CPA, I had the rest of the day off. So I cooked an Italian dinner for Justin, stuffed shells with caesar salad and ficocia bread. Yesterday was our 3 year anniversary!

Blog-Worthy

I figured this story was worth sharing. Blog-worthy shall we say. Yesterday, I was driving home from work and my mom called. She said that she got a tip from the neighbor that a gas station up the street was selling premium grade gas for 31 cents a gallon. Ben and Daddy had just filled up. I quickly made a detour and headed to the gas station. Sure enough, only premuim grade was selling for 31 cents!! I got 16 gallons and Justin got 16 gallons. My total for 16 gallons was $5.11!! We don't know why and as Daddy said, "don't ask questions, just fill up your tank." Not sure what gas is in Arizona, California, Neveda, Connecticut, or San Antonio but up here it is around $3.09 and usually takes over $50 to fill up! So needless to say, the $90 or so savings for the week made our night! Here's to the little things!

We are quickly discovering the joys of home ownership. For the past few days, I have been drying my hair in the kitchen. Why you might ask...because evidently all the plugs in the back of the house are tied to the same fuse and that fuse is tied to the air conditioner. So when you start blow drying in the bathroom...everything goes black. I think I have devised a plan to bypass this troublesome fuse and still see in a mirror for drying my hair. I'll let you know if my plan works out.

We also had a garage door fiasco. It basically fell off. But you should be happy to know...the garage door fix-it man said I had correctly diagnosed the problem. We don't have an opener yet so we had been opening it by hand. The handle is way to one side. So whenever we opened it, I noticed that side went up first. Well, I guess the door didn't like this and the whole support system on that side fell off the ceiling. So no more garage until we get an opener.

But we are also enjoying having our own place. We are going to paint the study this evening. Yes, we are attempting this without supervision! After being trained by the best (my dad), I think we are ready. I am also enjoying our new fridge. For some reason, that purchase makes the place feel like my own. Maybe b/c I have never had a nice fridge or maybe b/c of the investment!

One last thing...GO MAVS!!! They need our encouragement right now.
