Tour des Flours

This weekend I ran in the Tour des Fleurs, a 10K race, with my fellow E&Y runners. It was a team competition and each team could have as many runners as they wanted and the top 5 finishing times counted for the team total. We had about 15 total runners on our team. We got third place (my time didn't count). But I was happy with my time anyway, 1:05. I ran with Gail and we chatted the whole time except when she tried to leave me while I stopped for a potty break! The race started and ended at the Dallas Arboretum so we walked around after and looked at the plants and art tents.

7:15 am. Tax team before the race....

...tax team after the race. Appr. 8:45 am.

And just in case you thought we were cool...I'll tell you what our shirts said. Front "Ernst & Young". Back "How come you're not signed up for the 401K? Oh, I could never run that far!" That's right, dorky accountant joke. We even got comments while running. One guy passed by and said, "only 390 more K to go." It took me a minute to realize what he was talking about!

Sophie June

Just wanted to let everyone know that Sophie June was born today! She arrived around 11:30 am and weighed in at 6 pounds even and was 19 inches long (i think). She is adorable and if all the visitors there mean anything, already very loved. Walker held her in is lap and kissed and patted her. Although he seemed more interested in the plastic glove blown up like a balloon! Either me, my mom, or Kara will post pictures soon so keep checking.

Happy Birthday to Me!!

Today is my 26th birthday. Yes, I am getting old...over a 1/4 century now! Justin made me waffles with strawberries and whipped cream for breakfast. A Walker family tradition for those of you who didn't know. Then the rest of the day has been pretty typical except with lots of visitors to my cube and a few e-cards :) We had a family get-together on Sunday to celebrate. I got some money and gift cards that I plan on using for new running shoes. I think I am going to go buy them tonight! Yea! Justin and I are celebrating tomorrow night since we have a volleyball game tonight. By we, I mean, Justin has a sand volleyball game and I plan on watching. Walker's were not built for volleyball if ya know what I mean. All in all, I don't mind being 26 plus I have had some major milestones this past year...getting my CPA, buying a home, becoming a senior, and running 2 half marathons. I pray this year holds as many joys :) Hey, I already know one joyful moment that will be here before we know it...my first neice, little Sophie June!
