The Body

My group was running at White Rock Lake as usual on Saturday morning. We start at 7 am. We were running 6 miles and right near the 3 mile turn around point we saw the trail was blocked off by crime scene tape and there were numerous police and firemen standing around inside the taped off area. I saw something in the water and we joked that maybe that was a body. You couldn't really tell. When we got back to our meeting spot, everyone was talking about the body. Our coach had a picture on his iphone and some others had seen clothes stacked up by a tree. I told Justin my story when I got home and he did not believe we had really seen a body. So he scoured Dallasnews.com all weekend finding nothing to back up my story...until tonight. Here is a link to the story. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/022309dnmetwhiterockdeath.3feac39b.html
Police do not know what happened to her yet but I'll keep you posted if we find out.

The Austin Half Marathon

We had a great time in Austin this weekend! We left Saturday after Team in Training. We went straight to the expo when we got there to pick up my bib number. I got a new 26.2 beanie and a 26.2 magnet for my car! After that, we went to dinner at Stubb's with some of our friends from college that we hadn't seen in a few years. Justin has always wanted to go to Stubb's and he thought it lived up to his expectations. We got up at 5:15 this morning to meet my friend Calli at the start line. Justin hung out with her family during the race who were in from Rhode Island. They saw us right after the start line, at mile 6, and at the finish. Calli and I had a great race other than having to wait 10 minutes for a porta potty at mile 8! The course was very hilly...probably the hardest half course I have run. Even with the 10 minute pit stop, we finished in 2:46...a PR for Calli :) We had lunch at Maria's Taco Express with Calli and her family. It was super crowded but ended up being really good. We got back to Dallas around 5:45 and are exhausted. Too bad we have to work tomorrow anyway.
