Snow Day

I am home today for an ice day! Good old Texas weather. There are icicles all along the roof and a sheet of ice on the driveway and street. No snow though. The only bad thing is that we got a voicemail last night telling us to be sure and take work home in case we couldn't make it to the office this morning. So I am working...but in my PJ's in front of the TV :)

Marathon Training...Go!

I just booked our tickets for Seattle! Yea! I am about to start training for the Seattle Rock N Roll Marathon with Team in Training. I sent out an email to some of you last night. But if you didn't get it or want to see what I am doing...my website is http://pages.teamintraining.org/ntx/rnrseatl09/lwardumt3m.
I am going to run the marathon in Seattle and then me, my parents, and Justin are going north to visit Victoria and Vancouver! I would truly appreciate any support you can offer...$5,000 is alot of money to raise! Also, last time I trained for a marathon, the training was as difficult as the race. So pray that I am diligent in my training and that the effort I put forth is reflected in my runs. Also, pray that my fundraising goes well. It is always scary at the beginning of a fundraising season. The amount seems overwhelming. But good news, I sent out my email last night and already have $325 in my account! Not a bad start.

In other news, in case you haven't heard, Kara, Aaron, Walker, and Sophie June are welcoming a new baby boy in June! Also, my sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Amanda and Josh are welcoming a new baby girl in May! That makes 2 nephews and 2 neices for Justin and me. I guess we will be ready for anything when we decide to have kids :)

Since New Year's Eve

Justin and I had a New Year's Eve party at our house with many friends and family. We had a great time ringing in the New Year, playing Rock Band, and playing Pictionary Man. Here are a few pics.

Me and Kara...we wore matching shirts...not on purpose :)

The Spread

This past week was long getting back into the swing of "normal" life. But we made it through alive! This Saturday, we went to the Baylor v. Texas Tech basketball game in Waco with my parents.

We ate at Bushes, got kloches from the Czech Stop, and cheered Baylor on to victory! Well, Justin and I cheered Baylor on to victory...not sure what my parents were doing...not cheering Tech on to victory :) Then we drove back to Dallas and ate dinner at Primo's, my fav Mexican restaurant! We had a great day...the day was my birthday present to Justin. We lounged around today and got ready for the week...physically ready, not mentally ready.

I forgot to tell you all before but I got new pillows for my living room over the Christmas break. They match the rug and I think they look pretty good. But see for yourself.

Boring Running Stuff Alert: I also ran 12 miles over Saturday and Sunday. I needed to run 12 this weekend and didn't have time either morning with the Waco trip and church. So I divided up the run. Not the ideal but you still get most of the benefit of a long run if you do it 2 days in a row. And I will admit, my legs are sore so I guess it worked. I am training for the Austin Half on February 15th.

Happy Birthday Justin

Today is Justin's birthday! Happy birthday baby! I know you are going to have a great year being 27 :) We celebrated last night at Texas de Brazil...yummy...I am still not hungry this morning. I'll be back soon with more pictures of the Christmas festivities. But for now, I have to go get ready for Amanda's baby shower.
