Walt Disney World Marathon

I started my training for the Walt Disney World Marathon this week! The marathon is January 13, 2008 and the course covers all Disney parks in Orlando! I am very excited to get started with training and my fundraising. I am training with Team in Training again this season. I am also a mentor this season. I think I have some really good mentees this time around. One of the ladies is in graduate school at UT Southwestern Medical Center here in Dallas. She just finished chemotherapy a few weeks ago. She is also an honored hero with the team. I am looking forward to getting to know her and hoping that she can serve as a constant reminder to all of the team of why we are running as she trains with us. Our first team training is Saturday! We are trying some new things this season to help pair people up with runners that run the same pace. I am also trying to take an active role in helping my mentees with their fundraising. I plan on setting up some group events for all of us. I have already been out to local businesses collecting items for a silent auction. I'm already at $680!! But I have a long way to go to get to my goal of $4,000. I also have alot of miles to run. Our long run this week is 4 miles. My longest long run before the race will be 20 miles!! So I have alot to do between now and then. I added up all the miles on my training plan and in total will run 477 miles while training! Does that get me to Colorado??

I would appreciate any help or encouragement you can provide! Click here to visit my website (better take a look since there is a Ouray picture on it) and click here to visit the marathon website. Anyone is welcome to join me there rather running with me or watching with Justin!

477 miles is a long way. It looks like you could get to Gulfport, MS, New Orleans, LA, or to Midland and back to Abilene. Whew! I'm tired just investigating this.

Wow, that's pretty sweet! Kind of insane, but still cool. :) Enjoy those 477 miles!
