The Austin Half Marathon

We had a great time in Austin this weekend! We left Saturday after Team in Training. We went straight to the expo when we got there to pick up my bib number. I got a new 26.2 beanie and a 26.2 magnet for my car! After that, we went to dinner at Stubb's with some of our friends from college that we hadn't seen in a few years. Justin has always wanted to go to Stubb's and he thought it lived up to his expectations. We got up at 5:15 this morning to meet my friend Calli at the start line. Justin hung out with her family during the race who were in from Rhode Island. They saw us right after the start line, at mile 6, and at the finish. Calli and I had a great race other than having to wait 10 minutes for a porta potty at mile 8! The course was very hilly...probably the hardest half course I have run. Even with the 10 minute pit stop, we finished in 2:46...a PR for Calli :) We had lunch at Maria's Taco Express with Calli and her family. It was super crowded but ended up being really good. We got back to Dallas around 5:45 and are exhausted. Too bad we have to work tomorrow anyway.

See! That's what I'm talking about! Even during a race, you girls have to go to the bathroom together. So, once all the girls do that, it means a 10-min wait at mile 6. Plan ahead next race, OK?

Congrats on the run. I want to be like you someday! I best get a move on if I have any hope at all of running a 1/2
