Race Outfit

Oh, here is what I will look like during the race for those of you wanting to spot me on the live finish line video. Please scroll down to read my first post of the day.

It's Race Time!

If you have been reading Justin's blog, you already know that our race is on Saturday! We are leaving tomorrow morning for Seattle! I am nervous about the race but so excited for vacation. You can visit his blog for information about tracking us and viewing race results. This is the culmination of almost 5 months of training for me. My training went well and I did not get injured like last time which was one of my main goals. However, I have still not figured out how to not feel nauseous after a 20 plus mile run. I am hoping I magically figure it out during the race. But I am bracing for a long afternoon of not feeling so hot. At least I can combat the nausea with the fact that I just ran 26.2 miles!

I finished packing up my cube for the office move today. It was my last day in the office I have spent the last 4 1/2 years in. When I get back from the trip, I will go to my new office and my window cube :) Hopefully all my stuff will make it there as well.

Check my twitter feed while I'm gone for updates on the trip and twit pics. Thank goodness for blackberries. I wouldn't want all 2 of readers to go without frequent updates.

About two weeks ago, we got a note on our door saying they were re-doing the sidewalks on our street and would be to our house in 3 to 5 days. They arrived yesterday. The whole sidewalk in front of our house is torn up and there is construction, people, and cars up and down the whole street. Despite the mess, I had a nice run this morning. 3 miles. Not too hot comparitively to some of my recent runs. It was 78 degrees this morning but at least it was windy.

We filed the Sally return on Saturday so now I can go back to only working 50 or so hours a week. I guess this is the time I should just be thankful for job and get back to work :)

Follow me....

This past week was really long. I worked late every night and we had another round of layoffs at work. They let 8 tax people go, the most at one time so far. They were all people that I have worked with for over 3 years and that I consider friends. They were also not people that you could easily see why they were let go as has been the case in the past. All that to say, the atmosphere in the office has been less than desirable since then.

I had a 20 mile run on Saturday. We started at 5 and finished around 9:30 and it was already 84 degrees. I took about a 3 hour nap but still felt nauseated when I woke up. Not sure how to combat that feeling other than not running when it is that hot!

Today I worked, went to church, ate, worked...and am still at work waiting on final changes from my manager. So not a very exciting weekend. Hopefully, this next week will bring shorter work days!

As you can see, I am copying Justin and added a Twitter application at the top of my blog. Feel free to follow me :)
