Viva Italia!!!

Yeah!! We booked our trip to Italy today. We are going on a guided tour for 11 days!! We will be traveling to Florence, Rome, Venice, Verona, Siena, Ilse of Capri, and Pompeii!! We leave on April 6. Click here for an itinerary. We are soooo excited! It is Justin's first trip to Europe and I can't wait to show him all the wonderful things Kara and I got to see as well as see some new (well actually old) things. I am particularly looking forward to seeing the ruins at Pompeii.

In other news....we went to the office Christmas party this Saturday. I had been told that it was white elephant but to bring something others would actually want. Well, one couple didn't get the message. Out of 20 presents only two were actually white elephant and of course I picked one. Most were a Christmas plate, gift certificate, or other such desirable items. I got a glitter lamp. Although I couldn't find a glitter lamp as fabulous as mine online, here is a similar lamp.

Now I have two choices, give it to my little cousins or save it until next year. My heart says save it and subject someone else to the glitter lamp. However, my storage closet says get rid of it! Maybe Walmart wants it back :)

I hope y'all love it! You are smart to take a fully guided tour. It's way too hard trying to get around otherwise!
As far as the glitter lamp goes, I think it would be a fabulous "re-gift"...does Justin have an office party?? :)

That sounds great about Italy. It also sounds like fun to ruin Pompeii. Wait.... Oh well. Who are these little cousins?

Italy sounds like great fun. Just think of all those photos you can post when you get back. I guess I am going to have to try a California Roll sometime. I am all about trying new things.

That would be awesome to go to Italy! I hope you both have a GREAT time!! Have you ever seen "The Music Man"? They're all about the "Last Days of Pompeii". Okay, well, maybe not *all* about it, but still about it. :)

I'm a little late on reading your blog, but Congrats on the Italy trip. That should be sweet. Yeah Katie is so right, it's good you did the guided deal, we learned the hard way...numerous times=) Later.

If you have the options, be sure and accept as many of the extra tours as you can afford. You may never get back and those memories are too important to miss. In Venice, I bought my folks a wine set that they still display in their dining room. I watched the dudes blowing it (yeah, it was prolly a different set, but I watched them blow the same thing). I ended up with the head of a Hummel figure that I dropped and broke. I told everyone it was John the Baptist.
