Wow, who knew it had been almost a week since I last posted. I am assuming my lack of posting can be attributed to the fact that nothing much has happened since then. I got to go shopping this weekend and finally spend some of my Christmas money. I got two tops and some new boots for work.

I wore one of my tops and my boots out Saturday night for my friends birthday. We went to Blue Mesa for dinner which was delicious. It is Mexican but not your usual Mexican. I just love it when I have something new to wear so I don't have to pick something from the same ole things.

I made Justin a mahi-mahi dish last night and made my half with chicken. It was a delicious island inspired recipe. The cooked bananas were the best part. I think Justin thoroughly enjoyed it since he cleaned his plate in record time! Then we walked up to Walmart to pick up some dessert. I bet you wish you could walk to Walmart from your house. It has always been a secret want of mine :) But to be fair, it is only a neighborhood market not a Super-Walmart.

Well, it sure is Monday. I am slightly depressed to be at work again instead of hanging with Justin. Plus I have an awful headache that is making me nauseas. I have been having them off and on since Christmas and today no medicine is helping. I think I am going to go to the doctor tomorrow morning.

Justin got a mild concussion this weekend when he fell off a ladder in the kitchen and hit his head on the counter. We spent 3 hours at Primacare but turns out he is okay. He just had a really bad headache. When I first ran into the room, he was on the floor. I was knelt over him and he tried to stand up and said real worried, "we have to get to the slopes." That is when I decided we should go to the doctor.

We also went to the Winterfest party for my office. That was lots of fun. It was at the Adam's Mark hotel downtown. There was a Texas Holdem' tournament and Family Feud. I played family Feud but my team lost. Probably because I wasn't playing with my real family!

Pictures!!!

Finally, the long awaited pictures from our wonderful trip. I know everyone was on the edge of their seat!

Here is the living room of the condo and out onto the back porch. I forgot to mention that the condo was full of Michael Atkinson paintings (mostly forgot to mention it to grandparents and my parents but if anyone else knows who he is you might be interested as well)

Beautiful view from the train!

Justin on the caboose. Am I the only one who wishes trains still had cabooses?

Justin and me between cars while the train was traveling (very dangerous). Notice my new cashmere sweater.

Me and the Engine!

Cool shot of the back of the train on a curve.

The view off the back porch when we woke up New Years Day! It snowed 9 inches the night before!

Journey to Durango

I think this post is a little late but I know everyone is dying to know about ski trip. We drove up to Durango on December 26. It was just Justin and me at that time. The condo was cute with a little spiral staircase up to the bedroom. As predicted there was no snow at Purgatory which was about 5 miles from the condo. So for two days we drove the 2 hours over to Wolf Creek to get some skiing in. Wolf Creek was super crowded with lots of lift lines but we managed to have fun anyway. We also rode the Durango-Silverton Narrow Guage Railroad. That was a great time and Justin loved it!!! Of course we did some shopping and eating out. We found a better Mexican place than the usual which is where we ate on New Year's Eve. We skied the last day we were there at Purgatory. There wasn't much open but it snowed 9 inches the night before so it was nice snow. We rented ski blades which are the short skies and had fun playing on those. Purgatory is a pretty cool resort with a wonderful view of the good ole San Juan's. All in all we had a great time!! Oh yeah, Justin's family encountered some mishaps along the way and was unable to join us.

This weekend we had a fun celebration at Texas de Brazil where Justin ate himself silly! I got him some new shoes, an arm band radio, and a Cowboy's sweatshirt. I think he likes his radio best but not for the purpose I intended it.

I've been having technical difficulties but hopefully pictures will soon follow. I have some cute ones especially of the train trip.

Christmas in Review

We had a great Christmas!! We spent Christmas Eve with Justin's family. We watched the Cowboys, went to church, ate, and opened presents. Opps, almost forgot that rousing game of Taboo! Then on Christmas, we went over to my parent's house in time for Mommy's wonderful breakfast of Chaska House french bread. For those of you who have never had it, ask her to make it next time your in town! When Kara, Aaron, and Walker arrived, we opened more presents. Then we prepared for dinner, ate it, and talked. It was a great time!!

Among the highlights of my presents were ski boots from Justin's grandmom, a beautiful piece of art from Kara and Aaron, and a brand new car from my wonderful husband!

unfortunately, the car was supposed to be here as a surprise on Christmas morning. But some dumb test driver backed into the car Justin had bought while it was still on the lot. Toyota had to have another one shipped in. It is now getting leather seats put in and we are going to pick it up on Friday morning! I can't wait!!

We left for Durango on Monday after Christmas and just got back this Monday. More to follow on that trip in the next post. I am waiting to get pictures off our camera.

Yesterday was Justin's 24th birthday. We went out with some friends for dinner but the real celebration is this weekend. We are going to Texas de Brazil and he will get presents then.
